The Local Offer
Finding SEND services can be hard. Your Local Offer can help. It’s a directory of SEND services and support in your area. Every local authority in England has their own Local Offer. Read more below about how your Local Offer can support you.
What is the Local Offer?
The Local Offer is a Local Authority’s publication of the provision expected to be available across education, health and social care for children and young people in their area who have SEND (special educational needs and disabilities). This includes those that do not have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan.
The Local Offer should provide clear, comprehensive, accessible and up to date information about the available provision and how to access it.
The Local Offer is for:
- Children and young people with SEN and/or disabilities from birth to 25
- Their parents and carers
- Practitioners and professionals
How can you find the Local Offer for your area?
Local Offers can be found online. They can be part of a Local Authority’s website or on a separate site.
Kids’ Young People’s Hub has a directory of every local offer in England and allows you to search for your local offer using your postcode. Alternatively, you can find a Local Offer by searching for ‘SEND’ or ‘Local Offer’ on a Local Authority website or by searching on Google.
