Celebrate Autism Acceptance Month with our “Kids Say We Can” campaign. Support, include, and empower autistic children and young people.
April is Autism Acceptance Month – a time to recognise and celebrate the strengths, experiences, and voices of autistic children and young people. It’s more than just awareness; it’s about understanding, embracing differences, and ensuring every autistic child feels seen, heard, and valued.
At Kids, we believe that every child deserves to be supported and included. That’s why we’re launching the “Kids Say We Can” campaign, amplifying autistic voices and sharing ways we can all make a difference.
Understand – learn about autism and the different ways people experience the world.
Support – take meaningful steps to offer support and practical help.
Include – create inclusive environments where autistic children and young people feel valued.
Be heard – amplify the voices of autistic children and young people.
Unite – work together to make real change.
Empower – provide autistic children and their families with the tools and confidence to thrive.
Together, we can build a more inclusive and understanding world. #KidsSayWeCan
Our autism guide is a great place to start – it explains what autism is, explores how autistic people may experience the world, the diagnosis process, and practical strategies to support autistic individuals.
We provide a wide range of support in over 60 Local Authority areas across England. From nursery care and home learning to inclusive adventure playgrounds, SEND mediation, information and advice, and crisis support – our services are designed to make a difference every step of the way.
Whether you’re a parent seeking support or a young person looking for advice, we’re here to help. Because when the right support is in place, children with SEND and their families can thrive.
Inclusion isn’t just about attitudes – it’s about action. That’s why we’re calling on the Government to make real, lasting change through our Manifesto for Change.
It outlines five key areas where action is urgently needed to transform the lives of disabled children and young people:
Inclusion must be built into every part of the system to make sure no one is left out.
Every young person deserves to be heard – especially when decisions are being made about their lives.
The Kids Participation Collective brings together young people aged 13-25 with SEND to share their thoughts, connect with others, and shape the future. It’s a space where every voice matters, and real change begins. Together, we can unite!
Take on a challenge with Team Kids – whether it’s a Tough Mudder, skydive, triathlon, or a running event like a marathon, half marathon, 10k or 5k – there are events happening all over the UK.
You can also organise your own event! Bake sales, quiz nights, sponsored walks or dress-up days – every event, big or small, helps us support more autistic children and their families.
By fundraising for Kids, you’re helping to build a more inclusive world where every child and young person feels supported and empowered.
Our Young People’s Hub is a space designed specifically for young people with SEND (aged 13-25). It’s packed with helpful information about autism, from self-advocacy tips to practical resources that help young people navigate life in a way that works for them.
Autistic young people deserve to be equipped with knowledge, confidence, and the right support to make informed choices about their future – and we’re here to help them do just that.
