Our Executive Leadership Team

Our executive leadership team is responsible for implementing the charity’s mission to create life-changing opportunities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Together, they bring senior level expertise across services, operations and policy advocacy and a determination to do their best for every child, young person and family.

Our Board

Our Trustees work with our executive leadership team to ensure Kids fulfils its objectives. They provide vision, direction and oversight.

Over half the Trustees of Kids bring lived experience, including as parents or siblings of disabled children and young people, as well as a range of professional skills including HR, finance, safeguarding, law and governance, and experience from charitable, public and private sectors.

We are forever grateful for the support and commitment they give to Kids.

Since joining Channel 4 News in 2006 she has broadcast a string of scoops, including sexual harassment allegations against the Liberal Democrat peer Lord Rennard, and an investigation into a British sex offender, Simon Harris, which saw him jailed for 17 years. Newman also writes about politics for the Telegraph, regularly appears on Have I Got News for You, and was a judge on the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction 2015.

David Cameron has been our patron for over 10 years. We are also proud to have received a lot of support from Samantha Cameron.

Elizabeth, actress and Kids patron, visited our Hackney Adventure Playground and said, “I’ve seen for myself how Kids play projects open up a whole new world of possibilities for many disabled children.”
