13 half marathons in 13 days

Reece, a young man living with Worster-Drought Syndrome, ran an incredible 13 half marathons in 13 days, raising over £2,679!

We are constantly inspired by the incredible people who go above and beyond to support our mission of creating a world where all kinds of children and young people have all kinds of opportunities.

This December, Reece, a 25-year-old from Hull, did just that by taking on the extraordinary challenge of running 13 half marathons in 13 days.

Reece’s story

Reece knows firsthand the hurdles faced by children and young people with disabilities. Born with Worster-Drought Syndrome (WDS), a form of cerebral palsy that affects his speech and movements, Reece’s journey has been shaped by resilience and perseverance.

He says ‘the challenge will probably be one of the hardest things I’ve ever attempted but thinking about the children and young people will serve as an inspiration to me and hopefully I can get the job done and raise some good money for an amazing charity.’

Running for Kids

The challenge was extraordinary! Running over 13 miles every day for 13 days required incredible physical and mental strength. Yet, Reece’s motivation never wavered.

Starting on December 1st and finishing on December 13th, Reece’s determination and heart have not only raised vital funds but also brought awareness to the challenges and triumphs of living with a disability.

Thanks to his efforts, Reece has raised over £2,679 to support us! The money raised will go directly to support the therapeutic interventions we provide in Hull and the East Riding, including Draw and Talk and LEGO therapy.

“I was so proud to represent Kids and so grateful to be involved in the Kids community.”

A massive thank you

Reece, from all of us at Kids, thank you for being an inspiration and for your incredible support. Thank you to everyone who cheered him on or donated, your kindness and generosity is what makes our work possible.

Together, we can create brighter futures with disabled children and young people.
